Since we’re wrapping up the Olympics coverage, let’s close it out with picks for the best moment of the Games.
I already listed my top things I was there for in person. (Though, I think, technically speaking, the mixed tri relay and the two individual races were probably high up on everyone’s list for “moment of the Games.” It was just hard to capture the drama from the sidelines.) I would add to my personal in-person list, too: The women’s gold medal soccer game was epic and also a pivotal turning point in the global evolution of the women’s side of the sport.
So. If you had to pick. What was *the* race or competition of the Olympics? The one that stands out to you above all of them, the one that was the most exciting? And WHY?
(I suspect the answers are probably different for watching on TV v. in-person. But also vary based on what kind of coverage you got.)
I also want to thank you all for staying with me and for all the support through the last two weeks of travel and Paris and illness. I hope you enjoyed some of our Feisty Olympics coverage and just fyi you can get 20% off one of our cool ‘it’s not a moment, it’s a movement’ shirts. We will now return to our regularly scheduled programming here at Triathlonish, starting this week
I think my favorite may have been watching Mondo go for the world record in pole vault. Yes, he already the previous record, but going for it in such an amazing venue, and being the only person at the time competing was amazing. I loved watching the other athletes on the sidelines helping him to prep and get the audience engaged.
