Why does Triathlon TV and Outside+ not have close captioning? I’ve expressed concerns about this and in the triathlete mag slack Susan Lacke was like ... yeah, WTF?
It's a good question. O+ app is actually, in almost all cases, getting the broadcast feed from someone else -- ie. they don't really produce and make the broadcast, they're just the distributor. But you'd think it'd be possible to build in auto-captioning into the tech...?
It was interesting to me that Triathlon TV also didn’t have cc (at least the race I watched). Is there a reason? Is it technological difficult? Just another factor to consider as we try to expand the fan base. Watching races on my trainer is my fav. Tend to keep going back to YouTube for IM/super league. Like I’m the audience that will watch all of swift academy (and loved it). If you can reach me base how will they expand?
Yeah Triathlon Live. I couldn’t get captioning on my phone or TV. Could it be user error on my end? Maybe. But it just seemed strange. I’m going to keep looking into it.
