This week’s Sunday evening newsletter for all you amazing paying subscribers has a couple of little things and….(drum roll) BOOK CLUB!
First up, I’ve teamed up with Feisty Media for a big campaign leading up to Women’s Kona. We launched a ‘Watch the Women’ push (and t-shirts are going fast—my mom’s favorite is ‘crawling our way to the top’). We’ll also be announcing some events partnering with Ironman both in the lead-up and during race week around women’s performance.
If any of you want some ‘Watch the Women’ pins or stickers, I have some left from Nice, so just drop me an email (kelly@triathlonish.com) with your address and I’ll get you some.
Second fun bonus coming for all of you is each weekly Wednesday newsletter is going to start coming with an audio version for our paying subscribers — so that you can just listen instead of having to read! (We’ll see how you like it, but hopefully it helps get through the backlog of your inbox.)
Now: Book Club!
We’re going to run Book Club differently this quarter. Instead of just the Zoom Q&A for paying subscribers at the end of reading the book (which we’ll still have), we’re also going to have a couple of discussion threads about the book as we read it so it’ll be more like an actual Book Club (yay). If you’re interested, all the threads and Book Club info will be here.
Now, for this quarter, our book is going to be Sidelined—about being a woman in sports, about being a sports reporter and working on the sidelines, and about how our sports are part of shaping (and are shaped by) our culture. Get the book and start reading! We’ll have our first discussion thread in two weeks and then another, and stay tuned for a Zoom Q&A post-Kona.
